The November 2021 issue of the Perspective magazine titled “The time is upon us” aims to communicate to the ‘cautious group’ of Australian that now is the time for change to stop the detrimental impacts of climate change. The brochure discusses the negative consequence of climate change and the incremental actions that are essential for making progress toward a solution.
The design brief was to create an 8-page brochure as an informational booklet addressing one of six groups in Australia regarding climate change. The document should be designed with design principles, margins and page layout techniques.
The digital brochure is targeted to the cautious group of Australians, those who are described as believing that climate change is occurring but not actively involved in making change. This targeted group stereotypically would be classified as older Australians and therefore the best communication method to reach them would be through an educated printed publication.
The design see the use of a strong serif typeface and dramatic photography to apply a mature and educated sense. The layout of the pages are a mix of traditional and unconventional, to communicate the severity of the situation, with our world on the verge of climate change.
